Cardiff-born designer Bethany Picton is set to launch her new fashion label at Tŷ Hafan Emporium this Friday, 15th July 12-2pm.
Inspired by the work of Tŷ Hafan coupled with her love of vintage clothing, the London College of Fashion graduate has designed 50s-style dresses in a range of colours for the charity’s Emporium store. The new range will be available to buy following the launch, with shoppers enjoying a glass of bubbly as they browse.
Bethany, who works in London as a Wholesale Admin Assistant at Collectif Clothing, said: “Since learning about the wonderful care and services Tŷ Hafan provides to so many life-limited children and their families, I have strived to be actively involved with the charity’s fantastic work."
“My designs reflect the nostalgic glamour of Tŷ Hafan’s Emporium store as they encapsulate a beautiful vintage aesthetic, unlike any other charity store I have ventured into."
“I am delighted to have launched the ‘Bethany Picton’ label, which has proudly been made in Wales as well as to give back to a wonderful Welsh charity. I hope the public love the dresses as much as I do and they help to raise much-needed funds for Tŷ Hafan.”
Tŷ Hafan’s 31 charity shops raise around a third of the income needed by the charity to provide its services to life-limited children and their families. Their three Emporium stores, including the one here in Cardiff, are boutique-style stores selling high-quality, vintage items at affordable prices.
If you're shopping in town or on your lunch break, be sure to pop-down to the Royal Arcade to check out Bethany's new designs.
