Popping up at our Pop-up Shop this week: Cardiff’s Contemporaries show is a snap-shot of the range of work coming out of Cardiff School of Art and Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University from the 1990s all the way through to current Fine Art students as they engage with contemporary art. The show demonstrates the quality, rigour and ambition of the School's students and graduates and we're ecstatic to host the exhibition in the Morgan Quarter!
Part of the city-wide Cardiff Contemporary festival, students get the chance to display their work on the same stage as some of the world’s leading artists, giving them a glimpse of where their careers could take them in just a few years time.
Fine Art lecturer Dr James Green explains, “Cardiff’s Contemporaries features a broad range of work - video, painting, drawing, sculpture and print as well as performance and so shows off how Cardiff School of Art and Design encourages its students to explore the widest range of media that best suit their exciting ideas.”
Artists featured: Anna Rogers / Bob Gelsthorpe / Emily Panizzi / Ethan Dodd / Freya Sharp / Gweni Llwyd / James Green / Magda Lakowska / Mark Hicken / Nathan Mullis / RAMUS|EVANS / Ruth Hitchens / Sarah Padbury / Laura White
