The 10th annual Record Store Day takes place around the world this Saturday, to celebrate independent record stores, their unique culture, their vital contribution to our high street and their excellent taste in music..
Over 500 limited edition releases will be sold exclusively at record shops on the day, including albums by David Bowie, Slaves, Kate Tempest and The Flaming Lips, to name a few.
We're privileged to have the world's oldest record store, Spillers Records call the Morgan Quarter home and are extremely excited for the day they have planned for their customers. With DJs all day, live music from Alex Dingley and other special treats - this is a not to be missed event for music lovers in Cardiff.
Doors will open from 8am and anyone that's extra keen to get their hands on an exclusive release and finds themselves in the first 100 people in the queue can expect free tea and coffee by The Plan Cafe.
Head to Spillers' event on Facebook to find out everything you need to know!
But that's not all!
With such a distinct link to British subculture and music, this year Fred Perry will also be getting involved in Record Store Day with a DJ and drinks in-store and free tote bags for the first 20 customers.
You can read up on the history and significance of Record Store Day on the Fred Perry blog here and we'll look forward to seeing you on the day.
